Table Bay HotelThe Table Bay Hotel, located on Cape Town's Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, straddles the antique breakwater and captures the Victorian elegance of yesterday, combined with the contemporary design of today. The interior of the hotel presents a kaleidoscope of impressions, from the European marble mosaic of the entrance court to the intricate parquet floor of the foyer framed (through floor to ceiling glass) by the full-scale drama of Table Mountain, with the activity of the harbour in the foreground. Below the foyer to the south, is the grand lounge with its cathedral ceiling and twin fireplaces. There is a maritime flavour to the Table Bay that extends to each room and suite, which has sea or mountain views. The Hotel has a total of 329 fully air-conditioned rooms which include standard twins, standard king, family, luxury, and rooms specially equipped to assist paraplegic guests. There are 18 luxury suites, two executive suites, one superior suite and two presidential suites. The designer-decorated rooms have luxurious walk-in cupboards and marble finishes, armoires and writing desks and each is equipped with a mini-bar and in-room dining is offered 24 hours. Telephones are provided in bathrooms, at bedsides and on each writing desk. Each has a voice mail facility and a call-waiting facility. Apart from experiencing a number of restaurants in the neighbouring Waterfront complex, the hotel also boasts an excellent selection of eating establishments There is the Atlantic Restaurant (open for breakfast and dinner), with its Cape Winelands theme, and views of Table Mountain, and the harbour. You may enjoy lunch in The Conservatory, with its intimate style, and relaxed fine dining. Famous for its High Tea, is the Lounge – which also offers light snacks and drinks, and has roaring log fires in winter. In addition, guests can enjoy drinks at The Conservatory Bar, and the Pool Bar (the latter also includes snacks and health foods). For relaxation, and some gentle exercise there is a salt-water pool, heated to a constant temperature of 22 degrees Celsius, and is surrounded by a mahogany pool deck with chaises longues. Guests can also relax in the Jacuzzi or have a professional poolside massage. For the more energetic there is a gym, offering cardio-vascular equipment and weights. The Health Spa has a spectacular view of Robben Island and is equipped with steam and therapy rooms and offers a range of fragrant aromatherapy massages and holistic treatments to stimulate muscle therapy and relax stressed guests. There are 5 treatment rooms and two specialised rooms for the Vichy Shower and Aromatherapy tub.
