Lavender ManorLavender Manor is an owner managed, luxury guest house which offers spectacular sea and mountain views and warm, relaxed hospitality. Overlooking popular Grotto Beach and the whale sanctuary of Hermanus’ Walker Bay, you are within two minutes walk of a number of the area’s excellent beaches, and the famous scenic cliff path. Each of the seven luxury private suites is stylishly and uniquely decorated with all modern comforts such as a TV, mini bar, tea/ coffee making facilities, and wall safe. All of the upstairs rooms have private balconies with beautiful sea and/or mountain views, and the luxurious en-suite bathrooms (separate bath and shower) offer luxuries amenities. The delicious and fully comprehensive breakfast is a leisurely affair and comes highly recommended. You might choose to relax in the cosy pool area, enjoy a refreshing drink at the fully licensed sea view pub, and watch the incredible sunsets over the ocean from the upstairs patio and Sundowner decks. Alternatively there is a large upstairs lounge with fireplace, and panoramic views of the sea and mountains. Whale watching (from land or boat) is undoubtedly a highlight of a visit to Hermanus (between June and December), but there are number of other activities and excursions that can be enjoyed in the area. From Lavender Manor, it is a short walk to a 20 kilometre stretch of beach and an easy mountain walk to Fernkloof Nature Reserve. Leave your car parked safely at the guesthouse, and explore the best that nature has to offer. It is an easy drive to the Hemel-en-Aarde (Heaven and Earth) wine route, and a little further to the well known villages of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. There are also 7 wineries in the Walker Bay area. For the more adventurous, try great white shark cage diving or viewing, boat trips to Dyer Island, sea kayaking, horse riding, and river cruises. There are 2 good golf courses in the area, and you might also enjoy visits to the arts and crafts market, and museum.
