Ellerman HouseEllerman House is not only an exquisite boutique Hotel, it is an historical landmark situated on the most spectacular site on Kloof Road in Bantry Bay, one of Cape Town’s premier suburbs. Bantry Bay is wind free and with panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, guests can experience breathtaking year round sunsets. Ellerman House's eleven elegant rooms, including the superb Ellerman Suite and East Wing Suite, are individually decorated and have air-conditioning, under floor heating, Satellite TV, a complimentary room bar and electronic safes. All deluxe bathrooms have under floor heating, heated towel rails and smart guest amenities. Guests can relax in the many gracious living areas that flow onto sweeping verandas and patios. The House also boasts one on the finest collections of original South African art, which adorns the walls. It is no surprise that superb cuisine is a cornerstone of the Ellerman House philosophy, and traditional Cape cuisine is the core of the menu. The menu is created daily, and is dependent on the weather, guest nationality, food that is in season, and the wines in the cellar. You may even wish to shop for your own fresh fish, seafood or produce, and the chef will cook if for you. South Africa has a winemaking legacy that is nearly 350 years old, and the Ellerman House collection of over 15 000 bottle of vintage South African wines pays homage to that fine tradition. The Ellerman collection, bought with care and vision, includes rate vintages impossible to source at retail. You can also enjoy relaxing in the large heated swimming pool, set amid lawned terraces complete with tall palm trees, which provides one of the most perfect and unique vantage points imaginable. For the more active, there is a fully equipped gym and sauna at your disposal. Guests can also relax in the stately library and browse the collection of volumes from the Owners' own library collections. Computer equipment is provided to download e-mails and for Internet usage. Ellerman House also boasts a new addition, the Villa. This is built in the extensive grounds, but is separate from the main House. The décor of cool colours was inspired by the refreshing palette of the Atlantic Ocean, which defines the overall look of the Villa. A contemporary edge to the classic original, is offered in the Villa, without compromising on the philosophy of service excellence. Guests in the Villa have their own butler. The living area, on the second floor, is open plan and flows outdoors to the endless horizon. The massive glass windows peel back completely opening up the lounge, dining room and study to the magnificent ocean views. There are 3 bedrooms on the top floor, with a lift connecting all levels of the house. A curved staircase wraps around the lift. The Villa boasts a separate entertainment room, with flat screen plasma TV, DVD’s and CD’s. There is a ladies study, stocked with a library of books, and latest magazines. Ellerman House’s Spa occupies the ground floor of the Villa, and is surrounded by teak decks and an infinity pool. The Spa has two luxury bedrooms that can be used either by residents of the Spa, or can be reserved for sole use by guests staying at the Villa.
