Camps Bay RetreatCamps Bay Retreat is a peaceful paradise on one of the most magnificent estates in South Africa. There are 4 pristine acres, with waterfalls, mountains streams and pools. You can enjoy magnificent views across the Atlantic Ocean, and the along the peaks of the Twelve Apostles Mountain Range. Somewhat surprisingly, the estate is at the edge of the enclave of Camps Bay, tucked away in the crook of a glen that runs between Lions Head and Table Mountain. You have a choice of accommodation options from the elegant Earls Dyke Manor, the contemporary Deck House or The Villa. Elegant, yet opulent, and superbly comfortable,at the turn of the (19th Century) Manor is a place to sink into and savour. All suites and rooms are classically styled with modern furnishings. From the owner's suite, with its own private balcony, large dressing room, lounge area, ocean and mountain views to the smallest room with the largest bathroom and breathtaking mountain views. Opt for the natural beauty that surrounds Deck House and The Villa, where trees and mountains give you a perfect excuse to indulge yourself for longer, and which have been developed along clean, modern lines. All rooms feature a refreshment station with tea & coffee making facilities, satellite TV, Telephone and laptop facility, DVD player, mini bar, air conditioning, ADSL internet connection. The Retreat Kitchen, Camps Bay Retreat’s restaurant, provides an intimate dining experience. Here you can enjoy breakfasts, lunches and dinners, including small bites, and picnic baskets – at all times a delicious experience awaits, and in a choice of venues, depending upon the meal. As the dinner menu is kept as seasonal as possible, it changes on a regular basis. For relaxation, you may just want to stroll the extensive gardens and spend time in secluded hideaways and peaceful places of contemplation. You can also take a guided walk in the grounds with the resident Horticulturalist to see where the Fynbos (indigenous plants) is being restored and a natural forest established. There is an extensive herb garden, which supplies thyme, rosemary, mint, chocolate mint and rocket to the restaurant. The resident dogs will happily escort you on a forest walk. With their warm and welcoming greeting you’re assured of uncomplicated, undemanding companionship. For the more active, you can take advantage of a variety of swimming pools, the tennis court, gym, mountain bikes and nature trails. Feel rejuvenated after a visit the Skin and Body Center – where you can enjoy a unique wellness experience in absolute tranquillity. Treatments include facials, waxing, hand and feet therapy, and massage. At Camps Bay Retreat you can choose to do everything… or nothing at all.
