The Plettenberg

The Plettenberg is built on a rocky headland with breathtaking vistas of the sea, mountains and miles of golden sand in one of the most spectacular resorts in Africa - Plettenberg Bay.

The Plettenberg has 38 luxury rooms and suites, and which offer a truly idyllic and indulgent experience. Accommodation (which is all air-conditioned) varies from the 3 bed room Lookout Villa, and the 2 bed room The Beach House, to the Premier Suite, and luxury rooms.

Guests can enjoy the use of two swimming pools, one of which is heated, and which both visually flow into the ocean below.

Dining at The Plettenberg is a treat. There is the Sand restaurant, overlooking Formosa Bay. It is open for breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner. Here breakfasts are a sumptuous affair with buffets of fresh ingredients fruits, cheese, cold meats, along with the choice of a cooked English breakfast. For a romantic dinner for two, enjoy the state-of-the-art wine cellar, surrounded by bottle upon bottle of the best in South African wines.

You might also want to enjoy an excellent selection of cocktails at the Sandbar – recently refurbished – with a design which mixes glass, white leather, marble and natural oak.

Guests can experience fabulous sightings of dolphins and whales (seasonal) from the hotel terraces. For the more adventurous there are numerous excursions and activities within close proximity to the hotel.

The Carchele Spa at The Plettenberg has recently been awarded top honours from Decleor, Paris as one of their top ten stockists in the country. Here you can enjoy an excellent selection of treatments.
