Franschhoek Country House and Villas

Set in the picturesque valley of Franschhoek, and flanked by the majestic Huguenot Mountains, Franschhoek Country House and Villas offers both luxury accommodation and one of the country’s top rated restaurants.

This lovingly restored manor house and former perfumery dates back to 1890, and is situated on the outskirts of the village. As Franschhoek Country House it now offers 14 lavish rooms, and 12 exclusive villa suites. The Franschhoek Country House offers 14 luxury rooms - most lead out onto balconies or private patios. All rooms have the expected luxuries and amenities including satellite TV, and direct dial telephone. Some also feature fire places, under carpet heating and air-conditioning.

The new Villa Suites offer the ultimate in luxury, each of which measures 100 metres square and consists of an entrance portico leading into a large, well appointed lounge. French windows lead you into the luxurious bedroom and both rooms open onto a large private balcony. The bedroom also has a second intimate private balcony with views over the gardens. The en suite bathroom is decorated in a French provincial style. Each suite boasts many luxuries including independently air-conditioned bedroom and lounge, an entertainment facility with individual satellite TV, DVD player and a music system that extends from the lounge to the bedroom and bathroom. Fireplaces and under floor heating to the lounge, bedroom, bathroom ensures that guests are cosy and warm in the winter. Other standard items include mini-bar and tea/coffee making facilities. Guests travelling with friends or children also have the opportunity to take up adjoining rooms with communal portico areas. Villa residents can enjoy breakfast in the beautifully decorated breakfast room upstairs.

The in-house Monneaux Restaurant is rated as one of South Africa's best and serves an inspired fusion of Western and Eastern influences. Lunch is served on the magnificent fountain terrace and dinner in the relaxed, yet elegant dining room.

The new main building houses the guest lounges, breakfast rooms and a restaurant in the cellar. The lounge offers guests the opportunity to enjoy a drink before dinner or an afternoon cocktail on the veranda whilst enjoying the tranquil surrounds.

The main buildings together with the suites are all built to accommodate the interior courtyard creating a village atmosphere with numerous fountains, pergolas and cobblestone pathways.

Guests can now enjoy the use of a second heated swimming pool. The new landscaping on the property has resulted in expansive lawns with cascading water alongside the swimming pools.

You might also wish to enjoy some treatments at the Salon, where there are a variety of treatments and massages….
