De Kloof Luxury EstateDe Kloof Luxury Estate offers luxury boutique accommodation, in a unique location - the original homestead one of the oldest in the region. Built in 1801, the Cape Dutch homestead has National Monuments status. It is a hidden treasure, set on large grounds, with the Langeberg Mountains as a back-drop. The stylish and elegant interior merges a modern European style with a chic selection of African and Asian art, fabrics and artefacts. This is indeed an oasis of luxury, charm and tranquillity. Accommodation is a total of only 18 guests, De Kloof Luxury Estate offers 6 garden rooms, 1 honeymoon/ family suite (double-storey), and the Cottage (which sleeps 4). All rooms boast extra length beds and oversized duvets. The en suite bathrooms are spacious, and have separate bath and shower. In addition, each room has air-conditioning, satellite TV, in room movies, tea/ coffee making facilities, mini-bar, and private patio. The Suite also offers a fireplace, and Jacuzzi. Guests can also enjoy a daily complimentary wine tasting between 18:00-18:30, and there is a library and cigar lounge in the Main House. You can also relax in the pool, or make use of the gym. De Kloof Luxury Estate has a driving range and putting green, and use of golf clubs and balls is complimentary, as are mountain bikes for those who wish to explore the area in a leisurely manner. You may also wish to de-stress and relax with in room aroma therapy massages. You can also make use of the picturesque Swellendam golf course, which is a nine hole country course in excellent condition and a challenge for all handicaps. With Swellendam the third oldest settlement in South Africa, there is something of interest for all visitors – whether it is the museum, and historical buildings, or a visit to a local potter, or a meal at the old Gaol. It is also well situated to enjoy Wine tasting along the Route 62 Robertson route – which is the longest in the Winelands. For the more adventurous there is also rafting on the Breede River.
