7 Worcester street Grahamstown

7 Worcester Street is a boutique hotel, set in a quiet, oak-lined street. This is a lovingly restored stone manor house. Beyond the hand-cut stone walls and wrought-iron wrap-around balcony, there are ten individually decorated suites, each with a magnificent bathroom.

The rooms are furnished with dark timber four-poster beds, deep sofas invite relaxation and carefully selected pictures and objet d’art are in indication of the care and detail that has gone into each aspect of the house. The bathrooms have separate bath and shower. The rooms in the main house have beautiful views of the manicured gardens. The house’s main areas display a wonderfully eclectic mix if Asian, European and African artworks.

Meals at 7 Worcester Street are something to look forward to. There are three chefs (including cordon bleu), and dishes make use of the freshest local fruit, cheese, and preserves. Breakfasts are generous, and can be enjoyed in the dining room or al fresco. In the evening, you can enjoy cocktails and delectable snacks, followed by a gourmet dinner, on request.

Grahamstown may be best known as the home of Rhodes University, but there is a lot more to see and experience. There are a number of fine antique shops, some wonderful walks, and nearby malaria-free game reserves. In addition, the town, and its surrounds are steeped in history. The town itself was once home to the British garrison and centre of British settlers in Southern Africa. In addition, you might want to include a half or full-day Historic Tour, which will both surprise and entertain!
